Nice going Lowes, Bank of America, Dell

A picture of an obviously anti American Muslim family being anti-American and it's clear that they're plotting the downfall of America.

A recent story on thinkprogress.com tells of a new reality show on TLC about being Muslim in America has had ads pulled by a number of companies due to a scumbag religious organization calling for a boycott of the show.

The group called the Florida Family Association, likes to brag apparently that 65 of the 67 companies that it has targeted have pulled their ads.

This angers me in a few different ways.  First and foremost, what the hell kind of country have we become when a religious lobbying group can dictate the advertising dollars of large, major companies by using what I’m assuming to be lies and half truths?  Isn’t this America, land of the free?  I understand that if I question the freedom of speech of companies to advertise that many religous freaks will say the same thing.  Don’t they have a freedom to speak their mind and don’t the companies have a freedom to listen?  Yes they do.  They do have a right to speak, but with that right comes a responsibility.  A responsibility to speak truth.  While I don’t have details of the campaigns wrought by the FFA, one can only imagine the shenigans that went on here.

From the article, The Islamic Circle of North America is urging concerned citizens to call Lowe’s and protest their withdrawal of advertising: “We urge the American Muslim community and our friends, family, neighbors and all people of conscience to call Lowe’s CEO Robert Niblock at (704) 758-2084 or Executive Support Mr. Andrew Kilby at (866) 900-4650 and respectfully complain about this decision.”

Local Family Bailout

With talk of bailing out the financial industry to the tune of $700 million dollars using taxpayer money, I’d like to put my request in for about $56,000.

You see I have some student loans that I have to repay.  It’s important that we (my family) stay in business so that we don’t cause local panic and a run on the refrigerator and beer cooler.  We have to protect the integrity of the pocketbook.

The only real way to protect this integrity is for the government to either forgive or buy and repay the loans themeselves.  When asked, a member of my family who was assured anonymity, responded with “hell yes or maybe you could just get a better job”.

According to local family sources, the outlook for the student loan buyout is “not so great” at this time.
