Cherry Bomb

Mar 10th, 2010 | By KJ | Category: Main Gibberish, Music

Remember when you were a teenager and that one time at that party you had too much Mickey’s and then there was that blond who was a little dangerous?  Remember that?  No?  Me neither.
I do however remember The Runaways.  If you’re of a certain age, which I certainly am.  Totally a certain age, then you [...]

Retrograde. Retro good.

Jan 30th, 2010 | By KJ | Category: Latest, Music

Saturday morning.  Chilling.  Coffee.  NPR.  Much goodness.
NPR ends at 9 and I’ve become less and less enamored of Car Talk over the years.  My wife digs them but I’m kind of over them.
At 9 then we have to decide what comes on the stereo.  For me it’s Indie Retrograde on Indie 1031.
No constant repeated songs [...]

Michael McDonald from The Doobie Brothers joins Grizzly Bear on “While You Wait For The Others”.  I personally think it rocks, what say you? (click read more or the title or something to go to the inside page to hear this great song)

Enjoy “Southern Point”
[Audio clip: view full post to listen]
Remember the band America? Some hits in the 70’s…”A Horse With No Name”…”Ventura Highway”(note: edited from Diamond Girl, which was Seals and Crofts…thanks to Scott Bland!)…not bad, great harmonies…kind of happy music, even if the subject matter wasn’t happy happy.
Apparently the guys in Grizzly Bear remember [...]

Are my ears bleeding?

Jul 29th, 2009 | By KJ | Category: Main Gibberish, Music

Seriously.  Look, tell me what you see?  Blood?  Have my ear drums exploded or melted down into goo?  No?  Well, they should have by now.
Who in the hell told Regina Spektor that she could sing?  Really?  Who are you?  I’d love nothing better than to punch you in your balls.
And the hepsters who totally dig [...]

It’s new music Sunday!

Jul 12th, 2009 | By KJ | Category: Main Gibberish, Music

Very occassionally we’ll feature new music we’ve acquired, found, or otherwise somehow added to Itunes.  Enjoy!

Audiovox – A Kansas City band ready to rocket to international stardom and fame.  Well, they’re famous in our house anyway.  Enjoy.

please note that the song is not the Paul McCartney Christmas song. [...]

Today’s oldie but goodie comes courtesy of the Houston Music Examiner.  It’s Elvis Costello on Saturday Night Live in 1977.  Classic doesn’t even begin to describe it.  Enjoy!
