So Long Opus. Thanks for everything

I’m old.  Or at least I feel old today.  The comic strip Opus ended today.  Sure the end of a comic strip pales in comparison to the rest of the troubles we have but still.

A comic is a part of our lives that we look to for comfort.  A touchstone. Bloom County was a comic that I enjoyed at college and carried it over to my post college life.  It was a bit of a memory everytime I read it.  Then it went away.  Then Calvin and Hobbes came along, took its place and became a favorite.  Calvin and Hobbes was something that my kids and I enjoyed together.  So there’s that.  Now he’s gone, they’re growing up and I have gray hair (and less of it at that).

Jeez…that was maudlin and maybe a bit dramatic.

So yeah, Opus is gone the world keeps spinning and I have to go to the bathroom.   Again.

Thanks Opus.  It was fun while it lasted.
